Is it not amazing that despite the up’s and down’s we have experienced this year, we are already in the last quarter?.

I remember when the year started in January, it started with some promise although we had already begun to see signs of what has now being termed a recession or like I recently heard from a participant at the business growth master class; ‘buharinomics’ or ‘buharism’. Just when I thought Goodluck Jonathan was the most mocked president. Lol..

Earlier in the year, I sent out an email titled; “Why we have to make more money this year”. In that email, I cited that cost of living was going to increase. Utilities were increasing due to privatization and general cost of goods would increase due to rising cost of foreign exchange and all these have become our reality 9 months later..

The increasing costs have had a somewhat positive effect because it has made us think of what is valuable to us and we have now being forced to re-order our priorities. .

Now back to my topic of earning more money this year, I believe it is still a reality despite the economic set back. Money is an exchange for value either perceived or real value.. I will talk more about that another day. And you need to have the right vehicle for this exchange to happen..

The other day, I went to a food fair with my friend who is a fellow foodie. Our plan was to go and taste as many free samples as we could because we knew the vendors would have various delicacies on display. And taste we did, yum! But guess what? We could not resist some of the exotic delicacies we tasted and we had to buy..

Suffice to say, we consumed exotic pancraves (That’s the name o), mouth watering pastries, sumptuous salads and cakes. We then saw a crowd gathering around a particular stand apparently manned by a popular chef and we decided to order something off his menu which we thought was quite affordable. I went home with it and believe me the taste was worth every bit of the hype! Yum….

Anyway the point of sharing my food tasting experience is to say; people will buy things they value. We went there without the intention of buying so much, but from the eye catching presentation to the mouth watering taste even to the irresistible price points, we were hooked..

One of the most important skills that will guarantee that you still make more money this year is ‘sales skills’. Whether you are running your business, working a job, or running a side gig, your ability to sell and showcase your value will be the most important tool you will need to earn more money and grow your revenues..
