Have you ever wondered; “when will my day come?”.

Even if you haven’t, I have!.

‘The day’ might mean different things to different people. In this context, I am talking about the day for your talent, idea or business to finally begin to gain the recognition and rewards you truly desire and believe you deserve deep down in your heart, especially if you have been working hard at it…..

I interviewed Bikiyia Graham-Douglas; AMVCA award winning actress and asked her how she kept going over the years with little or no recognition and reward. Her reply is something that will stay with me for a very long time….

I said “Bikiya what is the difference between people who ‘made it’ in 1 year, 5years and 10years?” And she shared a native proverb with me; she said everybody has their day, focus on your own day!.

It blew me away because I see so many people struggling with comparison. Wondering why the other persons business or idea seems to be doing better than theirs..

I even see others suffering from F.O.M.O (Fear of missing out) and trying to do what everyone else is doing and wondering why they are not getting similar results..

What is the antidote for all this? FOCUS ON YOUR OWN PATH/NICHE.

Your own path and journey is unique and different from others..

Spend more time celebrating your own milestones and working to maximize your potential than comparing yourself with others. Water your own garden; be it a business or an idea and as you nurture it, it will grow..

Remember what Bikiya said: Everybody has their day! Your day will come…..
