I have noticed a trend on Social media; it is our love for images with motivational words. .
It became more obvious to me when I noticed that anytime myself or someone I followed posted something motivational, it got alot of likes quicker than images with business or general information..
As I pondered on this, I realized that motivation is a very important fuel to keep us going especially when we get discouraged. However as great as motivation is, it only encourages us to keep going, it does not tell us where to go or how to get there. .
If you feed on ‘only’ motivation, you will be pumped with so much energy and zeal without direction. Knowledge is what gives direction and helps us develop skill. .
My analogy to describe the importance of both is: motivation without knowledge is like ‘having a car filled with petrol without knowing how to drive’. Knowledge without motivation is like ‘knowing how to drive a car but having an empty fuel tank’, so both are important. .
By the way if you share my analogy with others, be sure to give me the credit. Lol.
When I send out regular emails, my goal is to inspire you and motivate you to invest in the “Knowledge” you need to Up-level your business and life. Taking action is what also creates the results you desire. .
Why am I going on about motivation vs Knowledge? Because I see people wondering why they are not getting results, yet they are unwilling to invest in knowledge. .
No matter how much we like the motivational statements of our rolemodels/idols/ mentors on social media, it does not provide us solutions it only provides us fuel to keep going. .
Popular blogger Linda Ikeji recently shared a motivational video on her birthday where she encouraged people not to give up on their dreams. I was quite inspired and motivated by it. However, did you notice she did not share what changed that has made her become financially successful? .
That’s the difference between motivation and knowledge
Keep getting motivation especially since it is free and abundant around us, but decide to invest in knowledge which will lead to transformation in your life and business. .
This is the final week for registration for business growth master class in Abuja. Lagos is holding this week and I can’t wait to impact high level knowledge on the select people who decided to invest in themselves. .
