I was reading a book the other day, and a phrase jumped out and literally gave me a ‘Slap’. .

Yup, I know it sounds dramatic, but that is how it felt. .

You see I am a big advocate of raising your standards and in the last Business growth master class, I taught the participants ways to raise their standards. .

However, the phrase I saw took it to another level because I realize it is one thing to declare you have higher standards, it is another thing to be accepting less…

So what is the phrase?.

“Your standards are not what you desire, your standards are what you accept” .

Read it several times and decide what it means to you..

Since the day I read the phrase, I have become more conscious of what I am accepting in my life, work and relationships..

Am I saying I want to earn a certain amount and settling for less?.

I shared a story with the profitable passion challenge group yesterday on a pivotal decision point I reached over the weekend to either give up on a new challenge I set for myself or push through..

I decided to push through because I realized that if I decided to give up, I was just paying lip service to my so called ‘high standards’.
