It will take longer

It will take longer

Have you ever felt the frustration of trying to do something that you are excited about and have being putting alot of time and energy into it, yet things are not going the way you thought it will go?.

If you have started any project, business or pursued any cause, I am sure you have felt this frustration!.

I have been working on a project for quite a while and by my calculations, it would have taken me 6 months from start to finish. The easiest stage was the dreaming and ideas stage. Developing the concept was so much fun, I was excited about the possibility of reaching thousands of people in a way I have not been able to reach people before..

The planner in me kicked in, I drew up a project plan, set milestones and deadlines for each stage, much like I advice my Business leaders circle participants to do. Alas, every stage of the plan had a different hurdle!.

At some point in the project, I gave up! I decided it was probably not the right time to make things happen..

I wondered why every time it seemed like anyone wanted to do something significant, obstacles seemed to come out of no where. I have come to realize that those obstacles are probably good to prove if you really want to do what you say you want to do, or it is just a ‘nice to have’..

Any way, I had a nudging in my heart and decided I was not a quitter after a few months and picked the project back up again. A few things happened when I picked it back up again:

1. I was more realistic in my approach in executing the project and I cut out the unnecessary frills that made it seem daunting.

2. Things flowed better. There were still obstacles, but I believe I enjoyed some sort of divine flow…..

I have learned from this experience that things will take longer than you think they will so we need to approach our business or project goals in a more realistic manner..

You will most likely spend more money than you thought, and it will most likely take longer than you thought..

The important thing is that you keep making progress and don’t give up..

So what is this project I have being talking about??? Okay you have to wait till next week to find out :}.

I will share the real story and my journey with you next week, so read your email next week!.

For now, I am excited to announce that  startup stars boot camp& mentoring registration is open from tomorrow-Monday 6th February 2017. If you want to start another business or a new business this year, take advantage of this opportunity..

If you are currently working on something and it seems to be dragging or you are wondering why your business is not making the kind of profit you expect, don’t give up, it will take longer than you think but it should be worth it at the end..

Also don’t be afraid to get help and seek guidance if you need it…..

A quote I like is “We overestimate what we can do in 1 year and underestimate what we can do in 5 years”.

Set realistic goals and breathe!.

‘Tale.

P.S: Check out Start up stars boot camp and mentoring if you are finally ready to start your side or main business.
