What’s up with the word fear?.
I spent some time recently going through a survey I did to see how I could serve people better and I kept encountering the word ‘F.E.A.R’.
Over the years, I have heard various opinions about fear. Some school of thought consider fear to be false evidence appearing real, meaning it does not really exist. Others consider it a healthy and protective emotion that protects us in our journey through life..
I believe both schools of thought have a point, however I think the real problem with fear is its ability to consume and paralyze you which usually leads to a state of inaction..
It also seems to have an ability to magnify reality with a negative frame……
Some of the common fears I have heard from aspiring or existing business owners are:.
- Fear of failure-what if I fail or things don’t just work out?
- Fear of success-what if I succeed and become someone I don’t want to be?
- Fear of missing an opportunity-what if I don’t make the move or make the wrong move and miss out?
- Fear of rejection-what if people don’t like me or my product or my service?
And the list goes on and on……………
Do I have an answer to the above fears? Not totally..
But I know the best you can do is prepare and plan properly, get the necessary knowledge and help and step out in faith..
You will only be stepping out blindly when you don’t prepare to the best of your ability or when you are too proud to seek help when you need it…………..
So instead of letting fear stop you, reframe the narrative and ask yourself some other questions like:
- Do I have a good understanding of the business or industry I am going into?
- Do I understand who my customers are and how to serve them?
- Do I have the requisite marketing and sales skills and plan to ensure I can bring in revenue?
- Are there other factors that might affect my chances of success like economic and political factors?
- Do I have access to information or guidance as I go on this path?
Your ability to answer those questions will show how prepared you are..
So spend less time focusing on fear and more time getting answers to the questions that will set you up for success..
Of course one way to get the answers is to seek knowledge and I thoroughly enjoyed sharing knowledge in the Online sales class last week with people who purchased the sales ignite course..
Through the survey, I also noticed that a lot of people want to know how to plan their marketing to generate revenues and we had a powerful marketing master class in August and did a recording you can purchase..
So the answers are within your reach, invest in yourself and don’t let fear stop you!.
By the way I enjoyed talking to the people who called in for my 15 minutes free consultation last week although I was surprised that some people booked the appointment but did not honor it. It was sad because they might have deprived other people of the slots as they filled up very fast..
I won’t be able to open it up again this week because it’s the week of Conferences for me..
On Wednesday, I will be at the excellent leaders conference, while on Thursday and Friday, I will be leading the rapporteur team at the WIMBIZ annual conference (by the way, it is a must attend event for female entrepreneurs).
Just in case you will be at the WIMBIZ annual conference, do stop by at the rapporteurs table which is usually right in front to say hi to me and introduce yourself..
I would really like to meet you if I have not..
This week, don’t let fear stop you from living your dreams, ask the right questions, seek knowledge and up-level!.
Have an amazing week..
P.S: I might open the 15 minutes free consultation again next week so make sure you are signed up to the mailing list either through the Facebook page signup or with the pop up on this website so you will find out early.
